BOOST PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH WITH SELF-CARE PRACTICES

Our Therapeutic Yoga Massage is accredited by Yoga Alliance UK and the CTHA (Complementary Therapists Association)  –  This certificate program is suitable for beginners and established yoga massage practitioners alike

Therapeutic Yoga Massage is rooted in the traditions of yoga and Ayurveda. Through a mixture of deep tissue massage, assisted yoga stretches, marma points (acupressure) and breath awareness we have the ability to rewrite old habits,  generate conscious postural alignment – and ultimately create a  deeper sense of relaxation and presence.

About our 100 Hour Training

Embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and deep healing with foundational knowledge and practical skills for those wishing to integrate yoga, massage, hands-on techniques, ayurvedic principles, and various nervous system-based healing modalities into their professional practices or personal lives.

As well as learning a comprehensive massage which you can tailor-make to your clients – this course will increase your confidence in making adjustments during your yoga classes (if you are already teaching yoga), creating a deeper understanding of the power and neuroscience of therapeutic touch and the healing power of the breath. This 100-hour training will encompass 50 hours of massage and bodywork tuition, daily yoga and meditation and 20 hours of lectures and workshops in anatomy, ayurveda, emotional anatomy and the nervous system.

Participants will delve into the nuances of yoga and massage therapy, combining ancient wisdom with modern scientific research to develop a grounded approach to supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Our Curriculum

Massage and Bodywork – With 50 hours of practical massage tuition, you will learn how this deep tissue massage releases long held tensions, realigns the whole body and assists in calming the nervous system. You will develop the ability to create therapeutic massage and yoga sequences tailored to individual needs and health concerns. You will learn a comprehensive massage sequence but there will be additional movements, modifications or more advanced stretches to work with your clients in the long-term.

Applied Fuctional Anatomy – Essential anatomy for massage therapists that will enhance your understanding of the body and yogic movement theory.

Physiology of stretching – Learn how working with specific sensory receptors helps deepen both yoga asana in your individual practice, but also the assisted yoga stretches within the massage protocol that help break through long-held patterns.

Understanding the Intelligence systems of the body – belly brain, nervous system, fascia – (connective tissue matrix). Discover the importance of fascia for both bodywork and yoga by exploring the fascial chains and fascial release techniques.

Neuroscience of Pain and RelaxationDiscover the surprising new science of chronic pain and its revolutionary implications for mind-body re-integration and the healing potential of deep relaxation

Vagus nerve – Gain a deeper understanding of the nervous system with a focus on the vagus nerve and polyvagal theory. Learn simple hands-on techniques and immediate mind-body calming protocols.

Build your knowledge of Ayurveda  – Work with Ayurvedic herbs to detox, exfoliate and destress the body. Find out more about the crossover between Ayurveda and the vagus nerve by looking at the gunas and polyvagal theory.

Prana and Nadis – Similar to Thai Massage and Ayurvedic treatments, there is a focus on opening the body and energy channels (nadis) to enhance the free flow of prana (energy).

Emotional anatomy – Your body sculpts itself around your experiences, feelings and personal history. Create a deeper awareness of body armouring and help people re-write their patterns and inhabit their bodies more wisely through TYM techniques and yogic homework.

Yoga Homeworks – Looking at how asana and pranayama can prolong the conscious effects of the massage.

Working with breath – Breath awareness is an important part of this massage technique. As therapists, we need to understand the breath pattern of our clients, where they hold tension and guide them to breathe to enhance certain movements or stretches.

Being an Embodied Therapist
 – Learning how to hold space and practising with respect, intuition and grounded presence.

Keeping Yourself Nourished – With daily yoga and meditation as well as some restorative yoga and yoga nidra sessions, we will look at the importance of our own well-being as embodied practitioners. Our course will include a full day devoted to creating conscious massage therapists by practising research-informed nervous system and restorative breathwork techniques and movement practices.

Getting Out – There will also be a day off during the course – and we will do some group trips for meditation and ayurvedic food.

Many students relish the opportunity to learn yoga at the source and rightly so! India is a truly incredible country and being able to practice with indigenous gatekeepers of yoga in it’s birthplace is truly magical. Whilst many first-time travelers to India and Asia can feel nervous at the thought of taking a trip alone to a foreign country it is important to remember that we are located in an extremely safe, small and local beach village. India on a whole is a very safe travel destination and Goa is particularly safe for tourists and solo female travelers. The local community have been hosting western tourists for many decades and they enjoy a respectful and peaceful relationship with their visitors. Solo female travelers to Goa enjoy relaxed and safe interactions in the state.  The economy depends on return visitors and the local community safeguard this return custom through care and respect for people coming to visit.
